I don’t think people always understand where my impatience comes from.
It’s not because I don’t care. It’s the opposite. I care deeply. I want things to move. I want people to grow. I want to help. And when I see something that could be done better, faster, smoother—I feel a push inside me to say something, to fix it, to make it easier for everyone involved.
But the way it comes out doesn’t always match what’s in my heart.
My tone gets sharp. My voice gets loud. People think I’m angry, annoyed, or just being harsh. And maybe it sounds that way. But underneath all of it is a kind of urgency—we can do better, you’re better than this, this matters.
I’ve had to realize that intent and impact are two different things.
My intention is to help, to support, to move things forward. But the impact sometimes lands as pressure. As criticism. As judgment. Even when that’s not what I mean.
I’ve learned that being right, or even helpful, doesn’t mean much if people can’t receive what I’m trying to give. And if my delivery shuts them down, they miss the care that’s behind my words.
